FAMOUS PEOPLE ON NIAGARA FALLS TOURS

Posted on February 4th, 2026. Niagara Falls, Canada

When you visit Niagara Falls Canada, the Movieland Wax Museum on Clifton Hill may not be the only place you could spot celebrities.

Niagara Falls has been attracting well-known visitors for more than 200 years who have toured Niagara Falls with a company or on their own.

Here are some of the most famous people who have toured the Canadian side:

HISTORICAL FIGURES AND NIAGARA FALLS

When we’re talking about famous people, we’re not just referring to the modern stars we know of today.

Charles Dickens: Visited in 1842 and wrote about the Falls in American Notes.

Mark Twain: Visited multiple times and often referenced the Falls and wrote about Niagara Falls, including: “You can descend a staircase here a hundred and fifty feet down, and stand at the edge of the water. After you have done it, you will wonder why you did it; but you will then be too late." - Niagara, Sketches Old and New.

Nikola Tesla: Spent time in the region while working on hydroelectric power systems nearby. He made such an impact that we’ve erected a statue of him that looks over the falls.
